DigiCareVET - project

DigiCareVET is a two-year Erasmus+ KA-2 strategic cooperation project that aims to develop teaching methods that help vocational learners in care-related fields to use technological solutions more effectively and build confidence in applying these technologies.

DigiCareVET project addresses the critical challenges arising from Europe’s aging population and the subsequent severe workforce shortage in the social and healthcare sectors.

This pressure is magnified by a digital skills gap in Vocational Education and Training (VET), as many educators and students lack the necessary digital competencies to integrate rapidly evolving welfare technology, leading to misalignment between VET and labor market demands.

DigiCareVET - bridging tech to care

Objectives

  • increase digital competence among VET teachers and students by equipping them with practical digital skills related to welfare technology in healthcare.
  • provide new teaching strategies to improve VET educators’ ability to teach digital healthcare technologies
  • ensure that VET graduates have the skills for digitally-driven healthcare workplaces.

Key activities

  • A needs assessment to identify key digital skills gaps in healthcare education.
  • Digital Transformation Toolbox with teaching materials, case studies, and best practices on care technology.
  • Online learning platform offering interactive courses on digital healthcare solutions.
  • Hybrid teaching models (combining virtual & in-person learning) for teaching digital skills.
  • Talking Circle Model: A collaborative peer-learning approach for teachers to share experiences on digital education.
  • Pedagogical framework for teaching welfare technology in VET.
