    Data Protection in the Live Foundation

    Protecting your privacy is very important to us. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and customers in accordance with applicable laws.

    In the following, we will explain to you the processing of personal data on Live.

    A separate data protection policy specifies in better detail how Live ensures the lawful processing of personal and other confidential data and a high level of data protection.

    The privacy statement, on the other hand, defines what personal data we collect and how we use this data.

    Why is personal data collected?

    The Live Foundation offers a wide range of services. The personal data we collect depends on the services you use, subscribe to or purchase. The purpose of use determines what kind of information about the user is collected in any situation.

    The reasons for collecting personal data can be, for example:

    • Compliance with legal obligations: We process personal data for the performance of our legal obligations, such as the provision of vocational training or for accounting purposes.
    • Providing services: We collect and/or process personal data in order to offer and provide Services. The providing of Services requires that we process personal data for the processing and delivery of orders, invoicing or customer service.

    What kind of data is collected about me?

    We collect and process, among other things, the following types of personal data:

    • personal data related to the implementation of vocational training
    • personal data related to the implementation of social and health services
    • personal data related to the employment relationship
    • personal data related to the customer relationship, such as information about orders and billing and payment information
    • personal data related marketing

    Where does my data come from?

    We collect personal data that:

    You give when you interact with us, for example when you are employed, when you use our services or when you subscribe to our newsletter.

    We receive from other sources, such as student application information, from the Opintopolku.fi website.

    Who processes my personal data or is it passed on?

    The Live Foundation may process personal data in accordance with the current Personal Data Act. This information may only be processed by Live employees for whom it is necessary for their duties. We may also outsource the processing of personal data to a third party, in which case we guarantee through contractual procedures that personal data will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Act. These third parties may not use the personal data for any purpose other than to provide the service agreed on with us.

    The Live Foundation is obliged to disclose personal data in accordance with the requirements set out by authorities and legal requirements. We will not transfer data outside the EU or the EEA. 

    How do we safeguard personal data?

    We use the necessary technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data. Such means include, but are not limited to, the use of firewalls, limited access rights and control of their use, proper access management, instruction of personnel involved in the processing of personal data, and the careful selection of contract partners using personal data. More information about the Foundation's information security policy.

    Are cookies used on the site?

    We may collect information about the user's terminal device through cookies.

    Verification, correction and deletion of your personal information
    You have the right to know whether we process personal data about you. If your personal data is processed, you have the right to see and review the personal data stored about you. The inspection can be carried out once a year, free of charge. The inspection request is made by using the data inspection request form.

    You have the right to request the completion or correction of inaccurate, unnecessary, incomplete or outdated personal data. The data subject can update some of their personal data through the systems (e.g. Wilma interface). Correction of data that the data subject cannot change themselves takes place on the data rectification request form.

    In certain situations, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data and to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data. Such situations include, but are not limited to, the fact that the original purpose for which the data was collected no longer exists or the withdrawal of your consent, which has been a prerequisite for the processing of your personal data.

    However, the Live Foundation may have legal obligations to process and store your personal data (e.g. vocational training). In this case, your personal data cannot be deleted.  Also, your data cannot be deleted when its storage is based on a legal provision.

    A request to review, correct or delete personal data is made by using the forms below. The form will be delivered to the Live Foundation/Live Vocational College's office with a handwritten signature and the identity of the data subject will be checked in connection with the return of the form (e.g. identity card, passport, driver's license).

    The right to make a complaint
    If you consider that the processing of your personal data is in conflict with applicable legislation, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman.

    Informing job seekers

    Open and targeted job application:

    The purpose of processing personal data is to receive and process applications from job applicants for recruitment and selection purposes. Applications are open applications or intended for a specific open job position. We store the personal data you provide in the application in an electronic HR register.

    At the application stage, we will ask you for information necessary for recruitment. Your personal data will only be processed and accessed by those people who need your data to carry out the recruitment. Personal data is processed by the Live Foundation's personnel management employees and supervisors in accordance with the organisational structure. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties and will not be used for purposes other than recruitment.

    The Live Foundation actively processes the candidate's personal data during the recruitment process. After this, the data will be stored passively for 1 year in accordance with the statute of limitations for contesting recruitment decisions. Open job applications are automatically deleted 6 months after they are submitted.

    You have the right to access your stored personal data and the right to rectification if there are errors in the stored data. You also have the right to request the deletion of personal data, the right to restrict the processing of data and the right to object to the processing of personal data. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if, in your opinion, the processing of personal data concerning you has violated the EU GDPR (2016/679).

    The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6.1 (f) of the EU GDPR (2016/679).The processing of personal data is based on the controller's legitimate interest, which consists of the need to process personal data in connection with recruitment, as well as the connection that arises between the job applicant participating in the recruitment process and the Live Foundation.
